Monaco Diamond League 2025
15. July 2025
Last Friday, the Herculis EBS Meeting in Monaco once again proved why it holds a special place on the Wanda Diamond League calendar. With a stadium buzzing with anticipation and a world-class field of athletes ready to compete, the evening unfolded as one of the most thrilling yet this season.
The performances were exceptional: Olympic and world champions, rising stars, and record-breakers all delivered on the big stage. Noah Lyles (USA) stormed to a season-best 19.88 seconds in the 200 metres, taking down Olympic gold medallist Letsile Tebogo in their highly anticipated rematch. Emmanuel Wanyonyi (KEN) nearly made history in the 800 metres, clocking 1:41.44 , a new meeting record and the world lead, coming within striking distance of David Rudisha’s iconic world record. In the women’s 400-metre hurdles, Femke Bol (NED) continued her unbeaten streak with a commanding 51.95 seconds, yet another world lead and meeting record.

Julien Alfred (St. Lucia) reaffirmed her dominance in the 100 metres with a powerful win in 10.79 seconds, while Megan Tapper (JAM) delivered one of the best performances of her career in the 100-metre hurdles, finishing in 12.34 seconds, a personal best that matched her season’s best. And in the field events, it was once again Armand Duplantis (SWE) who left fans speechless, soaring to 6.05 metres in the pole vault to set a new meeting record.

While the athletes grabbed the headlines, there’s an unsung hero beneath every record-breaking run, leap, and stride: the track itself. Installed at Monaco’s iconic Stade Louis II, the CONIPUR VMAX system by CONICA is engineered for elite performance, maximising energy return, offering optimal grip, and ensuring consistency that athletes can rely on.

Since its installation, this surface has quietly supported more than 20 world-leading performances and several world records. It’s become a trusted platform for excellence, a foundation where the world’s best athletes can perform at their peak.
This year’s Herculis meeting also marked the renewal of the long-standing collaboration between CONICA and the event organisers, a partnership built on mutual trust and technical excellence. Meeting Director Jean-Pierre Schoebel summed it up well:
“The CONICA track system has proven itself through the performances we see every year, fast times, exceptional consistency, and reliability.”

Looking ahead, there are still five Diamond League meetings to go, including two on CONICA tracks:
Athletissima Lausanne on 20 August and the grand finale at Weltklasse Zürich on 28 August.
