Weltklasse Zürich Lives Up to Its Name – The Night Records Fell on CONICA’s Piste Magique
31. August 2026
Weltklasse Zürich 2026 delivered one of those rare evenings that will stay in athletics history. On 27 August, the Letzigrund Stadium became the stage for world-class performances, an electric atmosphere and two unforgettable world records – both achieved on CONICA’s CONIPUR Vmax track.

The first historic moment came from Alison dos Santos. The Brazilian 400 m hurdles star produced a sensational run, crossing the line in 45.80 seconds and breaking the world record previously held by Karsten Warholm. It was a performance full of rhythm, power and control and a moment that turned the Letzigrund into a celebration.
Less than 40 minutes later, Masai Russell added another chapter to the evening. In her first appearance on Zurich’s CONICA “piste magique”, the Olympic champion stormed to a new 100 m hurdles world record in 12.09 seconds. Two world records in one night. One stadium. One track.

For CONICA, this evening was more than a sporting highlight. It was a powerful reminder of what high-performance sports infrastructure is built for: creating a reliable foundation on which the world’s best athletes can perform at the highest level.
CONIPUR Vmax was developed for elite athletics, combining speed, stability, grip and safety in one high-performance surface system. At a meeting like Weltklasse Zürich, where every detail matters and every hundredth of a second can define history, the quality of the track plays a central role in providing consistent and trusted conditions for athletes.

The Letzigrund Stadium and Weltklasse Zürich have long been associated with exceptional athletics moments. In 2026, that legacy continued in spectacular fashion. With two world records, outstanding performances and 25,000 passionate fans, Zurich once again showed why it is one of the most iconic stages in global track and field.

CONICA is proud that CONIPUR Vmax was part of this record-breaking night.
Congratulations to Alison dos Santos, Masai Russell and all athletes who made Weltklasse Zürich 2026 an unforgettable celebration of performance, precision and passion.
CONICA. The best track an athlete can get.
