Partnering for better tracks:
24. June 2022
On June 9th 2022, the Swiss track specialist Conica entered into a partnership with the Italian Track&Field association FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera) and the installation company CIAS.

This cooperation agreement was signed during the Diamond League meeting, the so-called «Golden Gala», in Rome. At the athletics competition in the «eternal city», contestants from all over the world battled on and next to the red track of the time-honored Stadio Olimpico. The coating in the wide oval of the Olympic Stadium was installed by Conica a few years back and has since contributed a fair share of ensuring that top athletic performances can be admired at competitions such as the Diamond League Meeting and training sessions alike.
With the signing of this agreement, Conica commits itself to supporting and developing the Italian athletic facilities for the next three years. The partners are pursuing the specific goal of bringing other running tracks in the «boot-shaped» country to a high level of quality and thus offering athletes an even better, safer ground for breaking records or winning precious medals.
FIDAL, the governing body for track and field in Italy, was founded in 1906 and is divided into 21 regional federations. In total, FIDAL has over 2600 clubs and 180,000 members. Conica is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cast athletics running tracks and has already successfully completed projects in major sports venues such as Zurich’s Letzigrund Stadium, the Stade Louis II in Monaco and the Olympic Stadium in Kiev. The company, based in Schaffhausen, equips around 100 stadiums per year with its technologies.
